Initially a machine created for war, Omega was single-minded in its pursuit to become stronger. As Midgardsormr stated, Omega lacks an imagination or an ability to distinguish fictional entities from actual ones, nor does it need to since it can create nearly any lifeform. Prior to fighting the Warrior of Light, Omega sought to understand how man can overcome challenges that appear to overreach their capabilities. It did not understand emotion or how to replicate them. Omega's every action was dictated through calculation, observation, and careful data analysis. At the start of its experiments with the Warrior of Light, Omega at least understood the Warrior was primarily concerned with the welfare of innocent people, and used it to coerce them into cooperating.
To fight Omega, the player must place the chosen battle team on the switch point near the fountain and use the other team to ring the bell outside the gallery, which activates a short timer. The player must switch back to the other team and locate Omega Weapon inside the chapel before the timer runs out.
Ff Fight Omega
The player should ensure to come with extra Zombie and Protect spells because they will wear off and one person will die when Omega uses Light Pillar; as Zombie persists between battles, it can be used at the start of the battle to defend against Lvl 5 Death, so it can be used in conjunction with the Rinoa/Angel Wing tactic to protect her at LV100 without having to junction 100 Deaths to Status Defense, ruining the strategy. Damage can be done with Limit Breaks, especially after Megido Flame while one character is healing. Alternatively, if the player has each of their accompanying party members each equipped with Auto-Protect, they never have to worry about recasting it as it remains permanent all throughout the fight.
Now with Pantokrator, the idea was to have a weakened Omega retaliating against players by unleashing a barrage of its strongest attacks one after the other. We wanted the eight Warriors of Light fighting Omega to band together as one to conquer this challenge.
We continue planning out the battle content, working with the lore team to incorporate any enemy lore into the overall fight. This stage of planning is where most of the battle mechanics are decided upon: the shape of the battlefield, the flow of battle phases, and other key features.
With the right preparation this fight is surprisingly easy - Omega has one attack, a laser that hits for around 7000HP, and that's it. Give everyone an "Ally: status = KO - Arise/Phoenix Down" gambit in their first slot, then set one party member to cast Reverse on everyone, another to continually cast Decoy and Reverse on your most damaging character, and set the DPS member to just make physical attacks - make sure they're not using a weapon that does elemental damage, and you're good to go. (An alternative strategy would be to Reverse just the DPS character - in theory it should be equally effective, but we've not tested it so your mileage may vary.)
The only change that happens to Omega during the fight is that his defence will increase when he gets down to 25% HP - it's likely you'll manage no more than 1000HP damage per hit at this point so the last quarter of the fight may take as long (or longer) than the first three quarters, but apart from that he'll still just stick to his one solitary attack.
Ultimately, that's the one rough tide there's not much you can do about. There is one option, and that's the Time Mage's Return spell. If Omega puts somebody out of commission and you're too far from victory to stay alive without all four party members, this last-ditch casting will bring you back to the start of the fight.
The game demands that you slay 100 of these giant slugs. Luckily, these slugs fight in large packs, so there can be up to 8-10 of them in a single battle. With a strong Magic attack, you can defeat them easily and garner up 100 kills fairly quickly before you know it.
These silly sahagin fish are annoying during the daytime, so it's best to try and fight them in the evenings when they aren't swimming in the sand (they'll trot around on foot). The best place to make these fish spawn is at the Dead Dunes highway (same place as the Gurangatch).
The Omega Ruins are where you will find some of the most difficult fiends to fight in the game including Great Malboros and Tonberrys. Make sure you prepare yourself by equipping at least one of your characters with armor that can prevent or ward Petrification (either the Stone Ward or Stoneproof auto-ability).
There are four clusters of treasure chests located throughout the Omega Ruins. Each of the chests will either be an actual treasure or you will be thrown into a battle against a Mimic. As soon as you fight the Mimic the other treasure chests will disappear. The list of available treasures are included below, however you may not be able to obtain them if you run into a Mimic:
There are two pathways that you can take. The pathway to the left leads to a Friend Sphere after two encounters and the pathway to the right leads to Omega Weapon. You will be thrown into a fight automatically regardless of whether you have the No Encounters ability equipped each time you enter a new platform.
The most difficult fights are definitely against Great Malboros. Each time you fight them they will automatically ambush you and will use Bad Breath as their first attack. Make sure that you are prepared for this by having a weapon that has the First Strike auto-ability.
Omega Weapon is an entirely different fight depending on what version of the game you have. In the original version of the game it has 99,999 HP however in the international and HD Remaster versions it has 999,999 HP.
The fight: I constantly warp-strike the antenna until Omega shortcircuits. I get away from the area, use a Mega Phoenix since everybody else got caught in the red AoE and immediately use Ignis' Overwhelm. Once that's over, I use the upgraded Armiger until I lose all my HP. (I just hold circle, though it doesn't seem to do much more than original Armiger.) Then, I do a second Overwhelm, after which he goes back to the invincible state. Rinse and repeat, with many potions and elixirs in between.
Now all I did was as soon as my armiger was full, use Ignis' Enhancement (which was lvl 6) and a power EX item (If you don't have them it just takes longer but I think you can buy them) Then use the upgraded armigers attack, Legacy of the Lucii (L1+Down). Then try to get hit by Omega and go into critical mode asap as this will stop your armiger from draining, use an elixer, switch to Ulric's Kulkriks, attack him to almost instantly have a full armiger again. Rinse and repeat. (Don't forget to switch back your weapon as Ulric's Kulkriks doesn't actually damage him but fills up the armiger extremely fast) So just spam Legacy of the Lucii (takes a while to charge up again) and it makes the fight really easy. I'd suggest to try to attack his feet or even better aim at the antenna while standing underneath him as he has a hard time hitting you there and don't attack the antenna directly.
There isn't much "strategy" involved for this boss fight. The boss was created in a similar way to the Addamantoise...to be killed very slowly, and only to be damaged by arminger unleashed. It took me like an hour, and only took me that much, because at one point I got Omega glitching, and he teleported exactly into a pillar, and he couldn't move anymore, nor teleport. From there on, I stopped using any sort of techs because I didn't want to risk "un"-glitching him. I just used Trident of the Oracle since it has some fairly good reach and damage, for the last 30% of his health. Until then, I had like the Addamantoise bangle for 9999HP, Ribbon, for debuffs immunity, and Kings Sigil, for AU. I would go straight into AU mode, and use the 3 tech bar for allot of dmg (I think it was Legacy of Lucy, called?). I still kept being one-shotted at times, as Ribbon doesn't prottect you against instant-death attacks, but at that point in the game...I was fully stacked on mega pots/phoenix/elixirs, and I would get back up straight away.
With Omega I finally could use a lot of my items, especially elixiers (had 99 of them of almost every category) and the stat buff items and even created some somewhat potent magic spells while fighting, which I've never done before. I haven't read about a battle strategy just went into the fight prepared with food buff, ribbons and Magitec suits V1 (don't know if the ribbons are useful) and tried things. Mostly I used armiger unleashed and halfway through some of my magic while getting armiger ready again. It took some time to beat him (around 20-30 minutes), but it was satisfiying.
Omega is a downloadable boss, available as part of the "Fight in Style" DLC received as a preorder bonus. Upon defeat, an Omega crystal may be dropped, allowing use of the infamous "Super Boss" to fight along side Serah and Noel in battle. Omega is one of the best Commandos in the game.
Old raids in FFXIV can pose a challenge for slower DPS queues, but if you want to experience the normal versions of these fights with their item level requirements synced down, queue up from the Duty Finder. Otherwise, you can take on this content unsynced to blow through the fights and get back to the story quickly.
You need to have Eden unlocked in the Tower of Summoning to prepare for this fight (since Ultima Weapon is already defeated, you just need to finish Strongest Eidolon). Before the fight, build up 5 stacks of Momentum -- the turles on Central Island are good targets due to their tankiness. Then come to the World's Boundary, let Eden teleport to you and have it wait in a corner. Buff yourself and engage Omega Weapon with the following skill rotations:
The beginning of the fight is the toughest part as it is when Omega Weapon's armor is the highest. The idea is simple: keep all buffs up, use Drain Attack to stay alive, and always dodge Light Pillar. Use Runic Shield whenever Omega Weapon is casting spells, especially Terra Break as it can easily grant you an additional +3000 damage. Once Omega Weapon is low, use Assault to deal more damage to counteract his power surge near death. If you're still having trouble surviving against his spells, bring a Tome of Heresy or a Tome of Crippling. 2ff7e9595c
